Halloween 2010

What happened to cute and adorable costumes?? They all had to have scary costumes this year.  I tried hard to find Cael something that was border line scary.  He scared the heck out of Dora the Explorer at preschool and made her cry.  He had to take his mask off for the rest of the day.
Mark finally found a day to go pheasant hunting with my dad.  My mom, Chase and I hung out carving pumpkins and taking the kids downtown to the trunk or treat and bounce houses.  Chase and my dad set up an air compressor thing in the bushes next to this hideous elk head.  My boys hid in the car and when the trick-or treaters came back up the stairs they would push the button and blow air and scare the heck out of all the kids.  My mom and I took the boys trick-or-treating door to door in my old neighborhood and they said it was the best Halloween ever.  (They got to go real trick or treating not trunk or treating)  Chase was packing up to head to his new job in Colorado Springs.  We all had a really good time.  It was fun for my family to have little kids around for Halloween.  They did a great job making it the best Halloween ever!

All-Star Football Tournament in Riverton, WY

We traveled 4 hours to Riverton, WY for a 5th and 6th grade football tournament.  We spent the night at a hotel with half of Connor's football team.  Hayden Erickson came with house.  We had a full car and a full hotel room.  The boys went swimming that morning and then we went birthday shopping for Cael.  Connor played two football games and we left Riverton at 3p.m. undefeated!  Connor is in love with football.  We had a great time

Thank heaven for this dirt pile.  I actually got to watch the game.

Cael's Friend Party

Connor had a football tournament on Cael's birthday in Riverton, WY.   So we celebrated Cael's birthday two day's early.  We went to story time, then to Pizza Hut.  I took his friends bowling, and then back to our house to open presents and play.  My friend Jen saved me by taking Gehrig home with her, because he was so onery.  I can't imagine how my day would have gone if I would have took a screaming two year old with me bowling with four 5 year olds.  Thanks, Jen.

 They had a great time!

Mom is a softy!

Gehrig did not want a binki when he was born.  It took me 6 months of wrapping blankets around him and his biniki and holding it in for me to finally get him to take a binki.  All of my boys have had binkis and I can't imagine getting a baby to sleep without one.  I know I am crazy but that is the routine I use to get my babies to bed so easily. Give them a binki and lay them down.  Gehrig likes to flip his binki up so the plastic rubs under his nose.  I had to get a picture of this because he has turned two and I always take their binkis away at age two.  Well, Mark said I am a push over with Gehrig.  Yes, I probably am.  It makes me so sad to know that he wont be my baby anymore.  His binki and diapers are the last connection I have with having a baby in our house.  I just don't have the heart to take it away yet.  Maybe, after our Thanksgiving trip!?

Fall Break!

The kids had Friday off school and so we decided to head up to Jackson Hole for a couple of nights.  We went to Jenny's Lake to fish for spawning lake trout.   It is amazing to have the Tetons and Yellowstone Nat. Park in our backyard.  On our way back to Jackson from the lake (near Moran Junction) we saw this mama bear and her cub on the side of the road.  We had a great time swimming at the hotel.  Grandma and Grandpa Jacobson, Chase and Hailey came up on Friday night.  Saturday morning they went back up to Jenny's lake and they saw and heard a huge heard of elk bugling in the park.  Later that afternoon they floated the Snake River.  My mom and I took the boys to the Ripley's Believe it Or Not Museum.  The fishing wasn't the best but we had an amazing time.

My Baby turns two!

This little boy is all about CARS!!  He notices car commercials, car noises, car everything.  He walks around saying "car, car, car"  all day long and he wont stop till you repeat it back.  None of my boys have been this obsessed about anything. His birthday was a crazy, crazy day.  I worked until 1pm then I ran errands, Jake had scouts, I had to run Con to Thayne for football practice, then I ran home to frost his cake, I had a photo shoot with a family, Connor wouldn't let us start till he got home at 7:30p.m.  I felt bad that we had a quick, late night party, but he didn't seem to mind.  Gehrig is such a happy little boy and this tends to catch the attention of everyone.  He brings such joy and happiness to our family.

Connor's Little League Football Team

This was Connor's first year playing football.  We now have a fan for life.  Thank you to the amazing coaches who care about these boys.  Thank you for teaching them how to play football.  Thank you for teaching them winning isn't everything.  Thank you for teaching them that hard work and practice pays off.  Thank you for teaching them how to work together as a team.  Most of all thank you for teaching them how to treat and respect others win or lose. They lost one game.  It was so fun to watch these kids play together.  This team just clicked and they had so much fun.

Dirt, 4 wheelers and "cars"

Three things that never get old for Gehrig.  Cars, dirt and wheelers

Salsa!!!

I swore I would never can anything.  Mark had a salesman that brought salsa into the office... well, needless to say I am a canner now.  Next year I think I will try peaches, chicken and more salsa! Mmmmm.  36 pints might last us to December if we are lucky!  A special thanks to my friend Kaloni that came over to teach me all that she knows.  I couldn't have done it with out her.

Fishing on Crow Creek

Usually we head down to Crow Creek in front of our house a couple of times in the fall.  The boys had a great time shooting grasshoppers while Mark fished.  Fall is such a beautiful time of the year.  This fall has been extremely nice.
