Deer Huning with dad

Cael stayed with my mom from Wednesday until Saturday.  We all enjoyed the break but we missed his smiling face and laughs.  He didn't want to come home and my mom said he was so good.  (No one to tease or sit on)  Connor stayed at a friends house on Friday night and went horse back riding.  I wanted to go to a fireside.  Mark decided to take Jake hunting.  At first Jake wasn't too excited, but he had a great time.  When Mark and him loaded up the 4wheeler he said "dad I'll go hunting with you anytime, that was so fun."  Jake also suggested they go out to eat at a restraunt since they were spending the evening together.  Mark took him to Pizza Hut for some pasta.  I took Gehrig to a presentation on the Ten Virgins and they had a nursery there.  We all had a wonderful evening doing different things.
Mark said the ride was beautiful and he is excited that he found a new fishing stream to try out next summer.  WE LOVE FALL.

September "Ortho day"

My dad watched the boys while Mark, my mom and I went fishing on the Salt.  Fishing was a little slow, but I was thrilled to have caught 3 fish.  It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.  Mark and my dad took Connor, Jake and Cael down the second float and they loved it.  Thanks, dad.

Hogle Zoo with the Johnson's

We ended up going to Payson last weekend.  Josh's mom was in a horrible accident and they came form Colorado to see her.  We went to the zoo on Saturday.  They boys had a wonderful time.  Jake and Connor's favorite exibit was a display of all different kinds of insects.  Cael liked the Tiger, we all loved the baby elephant.  Gehrig's favorite thing was the train ride.

New baby elephant.

I brought a bunch of treats for the kids.  Cael started eating as soon as we were there.  Gehrig loved it because he ate all the crumbs left behind by his big brother.

Before Lance went back to school him and Mark did a guided trip down the canyon section of the South Fork.  It was a beautiful trip and they caught a ton of fish!

Cael's First Day of Preschool

I have never seen one of my little boys soooo excited for preschool.  In fact, he started asking me back in July to call his teacher and find out when it starts.  Last night before going to bed he turned to Mark and I and said "I love preschool."  We said Cael you haven't even been to preschool yet.  We pulled up at his school and he tore out of the car door I grabbed my camera quickly to get a couple of pictures.  I thought he would stop and let me take a few, but he was in the door before I could stop him.  So I walked in and said, "Cael, I love you."  He was sitting down with all the kids and his teacher said, "Cael do you want to tell your mom you love her, but he wouldn't even look back!  I guess that is better then crying to not leave him.  But I did have to wipe a tear away when I drove off.  I can't believe he is not a baby any more.

Soccer

Do you know how when you are raising kids you kind of have some visions of what they will become or do in life?  Well, I can promise you that soccer has never been invisioned by Mark or I.  Connor loves soccer and baseball.  To Mark's dismay I made Connor choose between football and soccer this year.  Connor chose soccer.  We know so very little about soccer, but I guess we are going to have to learn.  Connor's team were the underdog's going into this tournament.  Connor had played goalee all year and he did really well.  The morning of the tournament Mark and I talked to him about being more aggressive and that as a goalee you can not be worried about getting hurt.   Connor's team played 3 games and Connor didn't let one ball past him.  Some of the parent's came up to us after the game and said they had a new nickname for Connor: "Firewall Johnson".  His coach said if she had a choice she would have made him MVP of the tournament. He was pretty beat up, but thrilled that their team to 1st place in the tournament!  We are proud of you Connor.  Maybe someday your mom will figure out the rules. ( Where is Tyler and Adria when you need them.)

Labor Day on the South Fork

We had a great Labor day weekend on the South Fork (near Irwin, Id).  My whole family was there except for Lance and his family (we missed you).  Actually as many times as Lance texted or called it felt like he was practically there! I think he was bored in church.  We fished on the drift boat and hiked up Palisades creek, dutch-ovened and sat around the fire telling stories.  Don't ask what Jake was doing with tinfoil on his face because we have no idea, but it was good for a laugh.  Jake recieved a head wound during a battle under the campers at night.  He was pretty proud of it and we had to wait to wash if off to show grandpa and dad.  The biggest adventure, if you can call it that, was Jake and William getting lost.  Everyone had loaded up in the trucks to get on the boats and fish the South Fork.  My mom and I were staying behind with the baby.  William decided he didn't want to go, so I walked out to the truck to see if Jake wanted to stay behind with William.  He said yes and got out of the truck.  I thought they were heading down to play army in a field.  When I went in the cabin to talk to my mom they had changed their minds and got back in the truck to go fishing.  So about 15 minutes later I walked down to the field to check on William and Jake and they were not there.  I quickly walked down to the Snake River to make sure they hadn't disreguarded my instructions to stay away from the river.  They were not there either.  So I ran back up to camp to tell my mom and brother that I couldn't find the boys.  I started checking every campground and had several campers out looking for them as well.  We started making our circle wider and I checked everywhere at least three times.  Finally my brother said," Kam we have got to call the police it has been at least a half hour and they should have heard us by now."  So I called 911 and I was giving a description to the dispatcher when my mom decided to call the guys and tell them what was going on.  Connor said, "Jake and William are with us!"  I quickly cancelled the 911 call and my mom called to yell at the guys!  Mark said the worst part was when my mom called he had a huge fish on and he missed it!  Jerk! What a scare!  Other then that we had a wonderful weekend.

"Caels" Bells

All summer we have had some major issues with Cael hitting cans of pop with a hammer in the garage or throwing cans of pop at rocks watching them explode.  One day we found a huge mess of about 10 empty pop cans in our drive way.  Cael and Jake both got in some major trouble.  This Capri Sun incident happened about a month or two later when I thought we had corrected the problem.  I was backing out of the garage when I felt and heard a huge pop.  I jumped out of the car to see what I had hit, to find a juice pouch exploded the whole length of the garage.  I got in the car and told Cael that his dad was not going to be very happy with the huge mess in the garage and that I was not going to buy any more Capri Sun's because they cost money and he just wastes them, etc.....  As soon as I finished with my lecture Cael got a huge smile on his face and said, "was it awesome?"  How could you not laugh!?  Speaking of funny things Cael has said lately.  He had thrown Jake's shoe on the back deck.  I said Cael go pick that up or the dog will chew it up.  He walked into the kitchen ignoring me.  I yelled again and again he ignored me.  Mark was in the kitchen and said "Cael what did your mom say?" Cael replied, "Hers said have a nice day."  What a little stinker.

First Day of School 8/26/09

This year was the first year that I wasn't completely excited for school to start.  We had such a great summer.  The boys didn't fight as bad as they normally do (or maybe I am just getting use to it).  Connor is such a good helper with the younger kids.  I can't believe he is in 5th grade.  I thought I was so old when I was in 5th grade!  Jake (are little peanut) is in 2nd grade! Wow how fast time flies by.  I love the picture of all three boys watching for the bus to come over the hill.
